According to the Northern Command article from December 27, 2021:

    • The Air Force has received over 10,000 religious exemption requests from active duty personnel, Reserves and National Guard
    • 2,000 religious requests for exemption were denied “due to military readiness considerations” 
    • “Each commander determines if the accommodation can be made without adversely impacting military readiness”
    • “Over 95% of the total force Airmen and Guardians have now been vaccinated against COVID-19”.
    • “Service members who continue to refuse to obey a lawful order to receive the COVID-19 vaccine after their exemption request/final appeal has been denied or retirement/separation has not been approved will be subject to initiation of administrative discharge proceedings”.
